We are at the Iconic Bridgewater Hall. The Hall has gained its wedding licence to hold wedding ceremonies. This includes tying the knot on in one of its many unique spaces. Bridal Chic in the City and The Hall will be collaborating on many occasions over the coming months, including a special wedding open day but first of all is the all-important photography shoot with our own bridge and groom. We have our creative team with us all at the ready to produce some awesome images to go alongside the grand launch that will take place over the coming months.
The auditorium holds between 1800 and 2400 people and was opened by Her Majesty The Queen. You can even take a tour around the building in which you can look inside the organ.
The shoot.
We’ve met our bride before but our willing victim, I mean volunteer is the fabulous Aaron. He’s our groom. Nicole seems to have an endless supply of chiseled jawed hunks. He’s a natural and both beautifully finished off courtesy of Soiree Makeup
Danielle’s dress and veil has been made by Erica Stacey while the birdcage is by Kate Hill Head Dresses. Erica is with us today and she has me in stitches when she tells me that all the intricate details and beautifully delicate garments are made to the sounds of Iron Maiden and other heavy metal acts. “Slash is my favourite. I love Slash.” The juxtaposition of beautiful wedding dresses being made to such loud and abrasive music is hilarious. The dress can actually be worn three ways. Erica says ” At Erica Stacey Bridalwear we understand that when choosing the perfect wedding gown, it may be difficult to decide exactly which shape of dress you would like for your big day. A couple of years ago, we created a variety of separates so that you can try them on at the studio to see what you feel best in; then you can either opt for a dress made of your favourite bodice and skirt or you could order separates to change your look throughout your wedding day. Keep your guests guessing throughout the day – the choice is yours! During the photoshoot with Bridal Chic in the City at The Bridgewater Hall, we demonstrated that if you still cannot decide whether to have a full dress or a slinky one, you can have both! Model Dee wore a slinky gown with a gorgeous open back detail underneath two full skirts – one was a full a turban, birdcage veil, a soft tulle boho-style jacket and a crystal embellished veil to give different looks.” This to me is just genius as some brides like to buy a few dresses for the big day.. no need to with this design.
Becky Betty is on hand to style hair. Becky’s work is exemplary and always has something different for us to swoon over. We have some mind reading thing going on, I give her random bits of inspiration and she delivers exactly what I want…talented isn’t the word.
We also have a new face with us today. Karl from King and Allen has joined us. Aaron suit has been beautifully crafted by these modern bespoke tailors who have three shops, one of them in Wilmslow. The suit used for the photoshoot was from the modern bespoke range. Karl from King and Allen says “Our Modern Bespoke suits are constructed using most of the same techniques used in our Traditional Bespoke range. They use many of the same cloths, raw materials and trimmings, including: felt meltons, horsehair canvas chest pieces and horn buttons. As with our Traditional Bespoke range, we take a full set of measurements and posture notes, and offer an almost infinite choice of styles and options. Made in our Modern Bespoke workshop, our tailors have embraced the many advances in technology (such as laser cutting) that have improved the efficiency of the tailoring process. This has also made the process faster; reducing lead times, costs and the number of fittings required. While the suit design methods may be less romantic, the end product is easily comparable to a traditionally made bespoke suit – exquisitely finished and extremely hard-wearing. If you want a bespoke suit that embraces the modern age and provides outstanding value for money (opening you up to some of the finest cloths in the world). Prices for a two piece suit in our Modern Bespoke range start at £499 and can be completed in as little as two weeks (express charge applies).
Paragon Floral Design have created something quiet dreamy. With this crescent shaped bouquet it produces a unique touch to the wedding flowers. Lisa from Pargon says ” We designed a 1920’s gatsby style with a soft feather collar and big opulent peony blooms, with hints of mini proteas following and trailing through the bouquet. The shape is crescent, giving the bouquet a twist from the classic hand tied design. I used soft colours with a pop of bright pink begonias to accent the darker flecks in the peony heads.”

Today’s shoot is not only being shot by a photographer but is also being filmed. Phil Amuzu owner of Base Aura created the film for our shoot at Zieferblat. Our photographer is Stephen McGowan. Stephen is a familiar face to us here at Bridal Chic and today, Phil and Stephen get the treat of shooting in such an amazing venue. I’ve been to several concerts here at The Bridgewater Hall and watched various people perform on stage but here’s our chance. How often do you get the chance to walk the boards? Well, we did. Who can resist walking on stage? Well not only can you walk on the stage but you can now get married on it now. They say “Each wedding will have exclusive use of the venue providing you with a variety of possibilities to create that show stopping occasion. You could literally take ‘centre stage’ by exchanging your vows in the magnificent Auditorium overlooked by one of the largest and most impressive organs in Europe. Alternatively why not charm your guests by hosting your wedding breakfast on-stage and walk down the aisle of our beautiful Barbirolli Room, with floor to ceiling windows. Our large glass fronted foyers offer a superb space for dining, reception drinks and dancing the night away, with fantastic views of the city centre. The canal basin surrounding the Hall provides the ideal setting to get some outdoor photographs with quirky little wooden bridges and a fountain that illuminates in the evening. Plus there are lots of interesting nooks and crannies inside the Hall for that perfect everlasting snapshot.” This venue is wonderful place to have your special day , and we here at Bridal Chic in the City can’t recommend it highly enough.

Outside the venue.
A feature staircase from one of the many rooms you can hire for your wedding day.
The metal sculpture of ribbons rises through all four levels of the foyers and is visible from the outside, particularly when lit in the evening. The piece of Art is a metaphor for unseen sound waves and the subtle, shifting and constant development of music. This installation is designed by Deryek Healey
The more intimate room has musical inspired photographic art work adorning the walls. This makes for a beautiful setting in such a luxurious surrounding.
