You all saw our NQ shoot which took place a couple of weeks ago, well not only does Liam model he is also a stylist and guest blog contributor. Who better to ask about groom styling than this man in the know, here’s what he had to say….

1. How long have you been modelling and does this work well alongside your retail stylist job?

“I’ve been modelling for 2 years and yeah it used to fit in well as most modelling is freelance so was able to swap over retail styling job days so I could work!”

2. What are your top tips to picking the right suit?

“Picking the right suit all depends on what time of year the suit is going to be worn. If it’s a summer suit you should always use suit mixes and use warmer colours to pick out detailing, such as brighter tie and pocket square combos. However if it’s winter should always try to use thicker materials like 100% wool suits and use darker colours”

3. What is the most popular style and cut at the moment?

“The most popular style and cut of suit st the moment is Slim fit suits,a well cut slim fit suit accentuates the build of a man if it’s fitted around the shoulders than cuts in around the waist to bring it in it makes the suit look a lot more professional tailored and better quality!!”

4. Where are your go to suit brands or stores?

“For value for money and best quality suits I tend to use brands like either REISS or even M&S, those brands always seem to be in trend with latest colours and styles but at the same time seem to be cost effective but still using the best quality of fabrics (brilliant VFM!)”

5. Should the partner be involved in the purchase of the suit or should the Groom always choose his own?

“I love how it used to be the most important factor of a wedding was the brides dress, but now finally the grooms suit is getting its own limelight! I believe it is equally important to match the colours in the groom and the groomsman’s outfits to the bridesmaids dresses, it just helps the whole thing tie together better and look more colour coordinated after all “there’s nothing worse than wearing a baggy suit that looks like it came from your dads wardrobe ;-)”
