Melanie Brooke’s in her own words….

“I have always loved anything creative, from lego blocks, to painting so it was no surprise when I decided I wanted a career in fashion. I spent 2 years at college completing a design and manufacturing course then headed off to uni where a gained a degree in design studies (fashion design, graphics, cultural studies) 15 years on and I’ve had an extremely successful career in fashion buying working for a wide range of north west retail head offices.

During my career I have continued to create and make items and gifts for friends and family whilst working in the corporate world and have always found myself drawn to the beautiful world of weddings, I have designed and made wedding invitations, seating plans, thank you cards as well as baby gifts. It wasn’t until 2009 when my best friend was getting married did I discover my passion for creating tiaras and headpieces and I haven’t looked back. I felt there was a gap in the market for bespoke products with a friendly open service that gives brides visability of price. Bespoke conjoured up images of expense and whilst I’m always happy to pay, I’m also savvy enough to want to get value for my money which means knowing up front the cost and not being afraid to have a budget. My prices are set in an easy format so we can agree and get the money bit out of the way and focus on the fun of creating something beautiful.

From the creative aspect I adore any materials that sparkle, I use swarsovski crystals, diamantes and freshwater pearls combined with vintage fabrics, broaches, basically anything that compliments the brides themes. I love working with brides to create something special for them, its the most exciting part seeing a happy bride with the end result
I use my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MelanieBrooksBespokeTiarasHeadpieces to show new work, my business is based on the social aspect so felt this was the right platform to give brides visbility of my work. I love seeing new ideas, colour themes, peoples personal wedding pics too on my pages so for the brides out there who love to talk weddings, pop along and post, you’ll be very welcome!”

Melanie will be at our Bridal chic in the city wedding fayre in Sept 29th at Bluu Bar in the Northern Quarter.
