Sally Jane Calligraphy;

Sally was delighted to hear that there’s “a huge trend in 2017 is Calligraphy scripts”, as identified by The International Wedding Trend 2017 Report. I expect the 2017 Pantone Colour – Greenery, to be a great influence in Calligraphy. Think hand-lettered floral wreaths, huge palm leaf designs and place-names, not just written on card but using natural elements to mix textures. I think watercolours will be huge too – expect to see lots of dip-dyed place-cards, table menus and numbers but still with touches of metallic, which I definitely don’t think have had their day yet! You can find us on Etsy and Facebook.

White Rose Cake Design;

Another one of the major trends spoken about in the International Wedding Trends Report 2017 is marble, and we here at White Rose Cake Design love to use this look in our cakes. Team it with metallics, another key trend, or plenty of fresh or sugar foliage to incorporate this season’s horticultural vibe and of course as said above, the Pantone Colour of the Year 2017 Greenery. Nat O’Brien Band – Funked It Up Uk

To end this part one blog on the details is our pal The Nat O’Brien Band. Nat say’s “Weddings bands playing great music with real soul are hard to find…these Northern Souls make it look easy and sound great! All the musicians involved in the Nat O’Brien Band have decades of experience and have seen musical trends come and go. Weddings are a chance for couples to celebrate their love with families and friends around them. This means lots of guests and a diverse range of musical tastes. This often leads to the ‘dance floor cluster effect’ where you only see small groups coming up to the dance floor when their favourite song appears.

The Nat O’Brien Band have solved the ‘dance floor cluster effect’ with their new act for 2017 ‘Funked It Up’. The seven piece version of the band (with brass section) play classic northern soul, Motown and funk along with ‘funked up’ versions of pop, rock and Indie classics. The music is diverse and the sound is immense, funky and cool.
The result is a full dance floor…all night!

We have also started their own club night in Chorlton to give couples a chance to try before they buy. The ‘Funked It Up’ club night launches on Saturday 4th March. Tickets are £7 in advance or £8 on the door…but there is an offer of limited free tickets for brides and grooms. Get in touch with Nat about your wedding, and he will provide a quote followed by complimentary tickets for the event.
