Have you heard of Victoria Warehouse???
I know you will have definitely seen it. Its that big old industrial building right opposite Old Trafford Stadium, or if your too cool for school you might know its as the hip and cool venue that houses the club night “Warehouse Project”. Whichever way you may or may not know this ace venue, it now has opened for business as probably the coolest wedding and hotel venue in the North West, and that not just me bigging it up. Its recently been listed as Manchester’s Top 5 Wedding Venues on the Zankyou Wedding Website. So let me tell you about this F.A.B place…..

The Venue

Well it was always going to be difficult to showcase the many hidden depths of this venue. We couldn’t possibly have time to get all the shots in one afternoon. It just means you’ll have to come to our showcase on the 16th January and discover the many secrets and surprises VW holds. Built in the 20’s these were originally two separate buildings. The history of VW, which you can read on the VW blog take you on an industrial journey from initially storing cotton to being renovated to this massive warehousing space, which to me is a brides dream, who wouldnt want to  decorate this blank canvas to your own personal style. Being able to be used for a variety of events totally embraces their ethos of….

“We Are What You Make Us”

So, do you want a virtual tour …..?

Although you can’t beat seeing the interior design and detail with your own eyes, it honestly gives you the wow factor and could easily give New York City a run for its money in terms of style….

The Photoshoot

We wanted to showcase VW with the feeling it deserved. Dan Hough Photo came along to take these shots. With his alternative styling of photography, he totally captured the feel of the venue, which to me is cool, quirky & edgy. Look at Miss Daisy the Volkswagen beetle how cool is she rocking her first shoot. Recently renovated by cake maker Penny Belle look out for more styled shoots with this little baby in the near future.

The styling was based around a cool city couple not wanting your traditional wedding dress. Isla Jean styled the bride in cream culottes and cream polo neck, put together with the models own faux fur jacket, (we love to mix it up). The outfit was accessorized with a diamanté bracelet and beaded berry hair piece by Satyrion finished with a red floral bouquet from Blooming Lovely in Lees, Oldham. The groom wore a black suit from Hugo Boss, grey polo neck and red rose corsage. It compliments the winter season perfectly and adds a twist for those who don’t want to conform to tradition and would want wear the items again.

The Groom.

We love a rock groom, just needs tattoos to complete the look or whatever floats your boat, my point being, represent yourself not how you people tell you to be styled. OK so I actually really love this shot, there are many a groom who would want to rock out a leather on their wedding day and why not, I hope we’ve shown you how this can actually be achieved.

The Secret Cinema

Oh my days this hidden gem. I had to show you this and somehow in pitch black with only phones for light and the movie screen, myself, Mark the camera man from Studio 54d and Dan had to make it work. I personally think he’s come through with these two shots in particular. By far the most unusual and amazing images I’ve:

A. put on my site and…
B. seen before!

Get stuffing that popcorn in your mouths….lol (they actually did too!)

The Bays

Situated at the back of the building is an amazing wedding space called “The Bays” as you can see in the images below its industrial design has been accentuated with pillars in coloured lights, copper light bulbs and buffed concrete flooring. Using lit up VW lights it really works amongst the brickwork backdrop, plus the silhouette shot, whilst risqué, works like a dream. Click on view to see the rest of the venue images taken from VW website to visualise your wedding.

The Hair and Make Up.

The Hair was styled by V12 Hair boutique by top stylist Becky Betty. We love Coryn’s natural curls and wanted to give them more ooomph so Becky used the curling tongs, slicked back the hair and accessorized with a handmade bespoke Satyrion headpiece. Anneliese from Satyrion is a jack of all trades and also applied the make up for both of the models, We wanted rich and vibrant make up and that’s what we got, using rich plums and bright reds this really worked not only with the outfits but the seasonal looks aswell.

Becky wanted to showcase the on trend glitter hair roots , bridal stylee, so she gave Coryn’s hair (left) a shake up and an added silver glitter and love hearts. Not gonna lie I was sceptical but I actually think this is really cool and one for the not so shy and retiring bride. Tanya’s hair was transformed from the 1940’s victory curls to a sweeping fringe up -do. We love colour and this bride is totally rocking the red…#Iheartredheads

I loved being able to show you the images from our styled shoot and not only that we filmed a behind the scenes video to be shown exclusively on our You Tube channel courtesy of ark from Studio 54d. We hope that if this pings your interest or curiosity for city wedding chic, that you will pop along to the showcase on January 16th. Doors open at 11an till 3pm with free entry and a glass of fizz on arrival. We will have some great local businesses to showcase to you, so come down for some wedding trippin…

Much Love,

Nicole  xx
