Alternative Glasgow Wedding Venues

1# Old Fruitmarket

As the name would suggest, an old fruit market with lots of original features. A Glasgow City Council Venue that hosts concerts, theatre events, fashion shows, weddings etc.

See some photo’s here:

2# Cottiers

Originally a parish church, Cottiers is a bar, restaurant & theatre in Glasgow’s West End.

* I have a friend that married here so could possibly get some photo’s if you’d like J

3# The Lighthouse

Scotland’s centre of Design & Architecture, exhibition space & Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s first public commission. (What better time to celebrate him than after the Art School burning down)

Has a tower with outdoor platform – views of the whole city.

4# Drygate Brewery

I am totally bias, this was my venue – I loved it!! It has a very industrial vibe: exposed brickwork, concrete floor, Murals by little book transfers ( – very cool.

– Independent venue, amazing staff & flexible space

– Sound system, lighting, bar & catering are excellent as this is a brilliant Brewery/bar/restaurant.

-Option to ‘Brew your own’ beer & have tours of the brewery.

Next to the Necropolis & Cathedral too, so great photo opportunities around.

5# Oran Mor

A bit of a Glasgow institution, another former church – host to gig venue, theatre, comedy & club nights.

6# St. Andrews in the Square

A former church that’s only a stones throw from the city centre – Glasgow’s 2nd oldest church, beautiful Georgian building

7# WEST Brewery

It’s a bit like ‘Battle of the Breweries’: Drygate Vs. West.

WEST Brewery is within the iconic Templeton building within Glasgow Green – an old carpet factory. Great photo opportunities in both the park & The Peoples Palace, which is close by.

WEST is industrial and every so slightly more formal than Drygate if this is proffered.

8# Sloans

A beautiful old pub just off the main high street – has a stunning Ballroom.

9# House for an Art Lover

Another Mackintosh venue, within the grounds of Bellahouston Park

It hosts Art Exhibitions, hosts workshops & events and has a great café

In Scotland you can get married wherever you like so literally ANYWHERE!!
